Built wing rib jig and first wing rib

DETAIL:

NOTE*  The fuselage you see in the pictures below is my dad's Fisher Celebrity.  Not a GN-1!  Don't want to get you confused.

My dad and I built the wing rib jig today.  We used 1/2" tight grained plywood which was bolted to two 1.5" square steel tubes.  We then taped the wing rib plans in place and covered them with heavy duty plastic covering.

We then used scrap spruce and plywood pieces to form the shape of the cap strips.  A stapler made quick work of nailing them down.

Once the jig was ready, using the bandsaw and 12" disc sander we cut the needed capstrips, cross pieces and 1/16" ply gussets to make one rib.  I took great care to make sure each piece had the right angle to insure a snug fit.  A batch of T-88 was mixed up and the first rib assembled.
