Firewall Forward complete!

10.0

fuselage

DETAIL:

As of now Firewall Forward is done.  I still need to fabricate a cowling but for the most part it's all done.  The engine runs great on the airframe. The Grand Rapids EIS instrument works great also.

I took the fuselage as it is now down to Copperstate Fly-in and parked it at the Contact! Magazine tent.  There were many many people who stopped by to check out the plane and the Corvair installation. There's a HUGE interest in the Corvair.  I was amazed to see the activity.

pics below show the installation.  Also a pic of the fuel tank. It's a 14 gallon .060" 5052 aluminum tank.  I had it made for $300.  The last pic is the magnetic sensor for counting teeth on the starter gear which sends the signal to the tachometer for engine RPM's.

The cooling scoop on top of the engine is temporary used for ground runs only.  Eventually I'll make left and right side scoops for flight.

Next is some minor fuselage work and then COVERING!!!
