Today I machined the wood needed to build the elevator halves. They are machined in the same manner as the horizontal, vertical stabs and rudder. Basically a "T" shape. After I had all the parts cut and ready I laid out the sticks for the right side and glued it up. The plans don't
specifically call for corner blocks, but using some scrap spruce I cut some up
and glued them in. All that's needed for the right side now is gussets and
rib strips and final sanding/shaping. |
