After the parts had been milled and machined I was ready to lay them up on the plans and begin construction. This really is just a big model plane! The technique is similar to building a balsa RC plane. Lay your parts over the plans then glue and clamp them into place. It's really that simple. This is where my 12" disc sander came in very handy. No way you can do it without one. I bought is specifically for this project and it's $300 price tag is nothing when you see the end result. Perfect angles every time. Today I finished building the perimeter of the stab and I was also able to glue in 2 of the cross pieces on the left side. I'd have done the right side but Aircraft Spruce messed up by sending me sticks that are too short to do the job. I've called them to inform them that their cut list is wrong, but I still had to pay for new sticks..... bummer.
