Front seat, sandblast control stick assy & varnish front cockpit

7.0

fuselage

DETAIL:

Worked on the front seat a bit and varnished the front cockpit with 2 coats of spar varnish.  I also sandblasted the control stick assembly from the other GN-1 and modified it to fit into my cockpit.  It needed lengthening of about 3" to get it to the right dimensions.  I've become pretty good at welding.

I also did a bit of grinding on the landing gear channel spreader assembly to allow the cabane vee to fit in at the ends.

I took the control stick assembly and landing gear parts down to a powder coating shop.  The LG parts will be done in white and the control stick in gloss silver.  It ought to look nice when done.  Not as cheap as I originally thought at $220 for the lot, but in the long run it's 100 times better than paint so it's worth it.

Should get them back within a week or two.  I've slowed down a bit on the project until I get the landing gear parts back so I can put this thing on the gear.  I need it on the gear as soon as I can so I can move it around the shop easier.
