Today I glued on the sides of the
fuselage. I'm using 3mm (about 3/32") 6566 Okoume marine ply. I
got my plywood from www.noahsmarine.com
Noah's has great prices and fast shipping.
Before I began gluing, I traced the longerons framework onto BOTH sides of the plywood sides. This is necessary so that you know where to apply the glue and also so you know where to nail the sides. Gluing the sides on is really a 2 person job. It helps to have one person, in my case my girlfriend Lori, gluing the fuse while the other person, me, glues the fuselage framework. A thin coat on each side and we were ready to stick it on. I used 1/2" aircraft nails spaced about every 2 or 3" to keep the ply down until the glue set.
