I ran across a deal on an 80% complete GN-1 that was for sale. It was located at my home airport of Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ. It was a very rare find as GN-1's are not too popular out here. The construction was done nicely. The wings are about 90% complete. They only need leading and trailing edges and ailerons. All drag/anti-drag wires are installed, wingtips completed, all hardware already bolted on (with the exception of the lift strut brackets.) I picked up the whole package for the gentleman's asking price and trailered it home to the shop. This will accelerate my
project build time by at least 6-9 months! I feel a little guilty by not
having built my own wings but I'm young and I plan to build several more
airplanes... no time for guilt now, Let's just get this GN-1 in the air! |
